Temperature is the measure of the average molecular kinetic energy within a substance.

The relation between temperature and average kinetic energy of a molecule is given by

$E_k=\frac{3}{2}kT$

where, $E_k$ = Average kinetic energy k = Boltzmann’s constant = $1.38x10^{-23}joules/Kelvin$ T = Absolute temperature of the gas
